Builders group honors Salvatore

Randy Salvatore of New Canaan, an eight-time HOBI Award winner, was named “2007 Builder of the Year” by the Home Builders & Remodelers Associations of Connecticut (HBRA).

The announcement was made at the HBRA’s gala awards ceremony, held December 8. It also marked the 60th anniversary of the HBRA.

In selecting Mr. Salvatore as “Builder of the Year,” Maureen Jacobson, Fairfield County executive officer of the HBRA, cited his ability to “think outside of the box with innovative marketing, dynamic sales techniques and diversified strategies in positioning his projects for sale under increasingly challenging market conditions,” according to a press release.

Recent projects, include The Village at River’s Edge and The Village at Maple Pointe in Stamford, both of which garnered HOBI awards for overall construction excellence, consumer value and marketing.

“Randy Salvatore brings an entrepreneurial spirit and fresh outlook to the construction industry,” she said, “not only in the way he builds his projects, but also in the way he markets them.”

Efforts to serve customers that were cited by Ms. Jacobson range from institution customized Web sites for each project, highlighting construction and architectural detailing and finish options, to showcasing completed and impeccably furnished model units that provide buyers with a complete visual of the lifestyle his homes offer.

In addition to being awarded Connecticut’s “Builder of the Year” in 2007, Mr. Salvatore received “Community of the Year” and “Best Mid-Sized Attached Community in Connecticut” awards for The Village at River’s Edge, a 170-town home community located in the Springdale section of Stamford, Connecticut. He also received the 2006 “Best Mid-Sized Attached Community” for the Village at Maple Pointe in Stamford; the 2004 “Best Multi-Family Community” for the Phoenix on Isaac in Norwalk; 2003 “Best Small Attached Community” for Vine Meadows, a townhouse development in Stamford; “Special Recognition Award” in 2002 for a 12,000 sq. ft. custom home in New Canaan, and three marketing awards for the Village at River’s Edge.
